IV infusion
is given through a needle placed into your vein.

Your regular doses

Four weeks later you will receive your next dose of IMAAVY infusion lasting at least 15 minutes. Your following doses will be given every 4 weeks.*

Infusion monitoring and safety

Your healthcare provider should monitor you for reactions to IMAAVY during the infusion and for 30 minutes after each infusion.†

Allergic or infusion-related reactions can happen during your IMAAVY infusion. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get any of these symptoms during your IMAAVY infusion.

See full list of possible side effects here

*If you miss a scheduled IMAAVY infusion, you should receive your next dose as soon as possible.

†If you have a reaction during your IMAAVY infusion, your healthcare provider may infuse IMAAVY more slowly, or give you medicine before your infusion, or stop your infusion if your reaction is severe.

Before receiving IMAAVY, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have had an allergic reaction to IMAAVY. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure
  • have or had any recent infections or have any symptoms of infection
  • have or had shingles (herpes zoster) or mono (mononucleosis caused by Epstein-Barr virus)
  • have recently received or are scheduled to receive an immunization (vaccine). You should not receive live vaccines during treatment with IMAAVY
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known whether IMAAVY will harm your unborn baby
    • Pregnancy Safety Study. There is a pregnancy safety study for IMAAVY. If IMAAVY is given during pregnancy or you become pregnant while receiving IMAAVY, your healthcare provider should report IMAAVY exposure by contacting Janssen at 1-800-526-7736 or www.IMAAVY.com
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. IMAAVY can pass into your breast milk. It is not known if IMAAVY will harm your baby. Talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby during treatment with IMAAVY

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. IMAAVY may affect the way that some medicines work.

About infusions

IMAAVY infusions can be given in a variety of settings

You can be prescribed and receive IMAAVY at your healthcare provider's office.

An infusion service provider may be able to coordinate at-home administration of IMAAVY.

Find a center

Your healthcare provider can refer you to hospitals where you can receive IMAAVY as an outpatient service (not requiring hospital admission).

Be wAIHA wise!

During an infusion, you may want to bring something to keep you occupied—a book, headphones, your phone, or a light snack. Wear clothing that allows easy access to your arm for the IV. Bring a list of any medications you are taking and any questions for your care team.

Questions to ask your healthcare provider about IMAAVY

  • Is IMAAVY right for me based on my
    hemoglobin
    levels and symptoms?
  • Can I continue taking my current
    wAIHA
    medicines while on IMAAVY?
  • Where will I receive my infusions, and how should I prepare?
  • What side effects should I watch for, and when should I call you?
  • How will we know if IMAAVY is working for me?

You don’t have to have all the answers. Bringing questions to your appointment is one of the most
helpful things you can do.
